Refund & Support Fund

There are two different ways to be exempted from the semester ticket: The Refund and the Support Fund.

  • With the refund, the ticket is returned. The fee will be refunded, but you will no longer be able to travel with the ticket.
  • For students who fall under the support fund regulation, the student body pays the contribution for the semester ticket. They can then continue to travel with the semester ticket.

It is important that you first transfer the full semester fee so that you can be enrolled. Afterwards, you may be reimbursed for the semester ticket fee.

We are now offering consultation hours to help you fill out your refund or support fund applications.

If you would like to make an appointment, please send us an e-mail either to semesterticket@asta.uni-kiel.de or, unterstuetzungsfonds@asta.uni-kiel.de. Consultations are offered in person at the AStA office in Mensa 1 or, upon request, online via Zoom.

Refund

You can find the rules for refunds in § 8 und § 9 der „Beitragssatzung der Studierendenschaft“. You can have your semester ticket fee refunded if you are on official leave of absence from your studies, if you have to spend a semester abroad, a study period outside the semester ticket collection area or if you are entitled to a refund due to a disability.

You can bring your refund application, the necessary certificates/evidence and proof of payment of the semester fee to the AStA information office, send them by post, send them by e-mail to semesterticket@asta.uni-kiel.de or from now on also use our new Online application. an uns schicken.

Application deadline: Four weeks after the start of lectures for the semester in question. Applications submitted later than this can only be considered if the delay is not the applicant's fault (e.g., the issuance of the de-registration certificate took longer than expected) and the application is still submitted during the semester in question.

If you are using the semester ticket as a special solution chip card, please also send it by mail or bring it by.

Support Fund

Students who are facing particular financial hardship can apply for financial support via the support fund. If they meet the requirements, they will be fully reimbursed for the semester ticket fee without the ticket being blocked.

Applications for support fund (formerly hardship cases) are processed by the semester ticket administration. The regulations for the support fund, on the basis of which the AStA processes the applications, can be found from § 10 der „Beitragssatzung der Studierendenschaft“. Submit a complete application, i.e. with all necessary evidence (e.g. copy of bank statement, rental agreement, employment contract, etc.).

You can submit your application for support and the necessary certificates/proofs at the AStA information office, send them by post, or send them digitally to unterstuetzungsfonds@asta.uni-kiel.de. Applications for support can be submitted up to four weeks after the start of lectures for the respective semester. If you have any further questions, you can also reach us via this email address.
