As the data protection representative, I am the data protection officer of the AStA within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, as such, am responsible for all questions relating to data protection at the AStA.

In this role, I advise the departments, the executive board, and the employees of the AStA on data protection issues and raise awareness of problems related to the processing of personal data.

I also work to establish binding data protection rules within the AStA and monitor compliance with them.

I also work to ensure that the principles of data minimization, transparency, non-linking, intervenability, and confidentiality are observed when introducing new procedures and redesigning existing ones, so that the goals of “privacy by design” and “privacy by default” are achieved.

Of course, I am bound to secrecy and confidentiality, am not subject to any instructions, and report directly to the AStA executive committee.

I perform the same tasks for the other student bodies, such as the StuPa and the student councils.
