The Deutschland-Semesterticket

On this page you will find the most important information about the Area of validity, about ordering and reimbursement of the Deutschland-Semesterticket, as well as the forms for it. You can find frequently asked questions in the FAQ.

What is the Deutschland-Semesterticket?

The national semester ticket is your access to public transport throughout Germany. It is valid nationwide for all buses and trains with the exception of DB long-distance trains (ICE/IC/EC...) and long-distance buses.

You do not need to buy any additional tickets to use it, as you have already paid for the Deutschland-Semesterticket with your semester fee for the entire semester.

The ticket comes as a digital cell phone ticket (in the NAH.SH app) and alternatively as a chip card and must be activated for each semester.

The CAU-Card and your certificate of enrollment are not valid as a ticket.

What can I do with it?

Nationwide use of bus and train. Detailed information will follow shortly.

What can I not do with it?

... use long-distance transportation and long-distance buses. The Deutschland-Semesterticket is not valid on long-distance trains and long-distance buses. In the event of delays in local transport, long-distance trains can be released for students with a semester ticket.

Further information on the nationwide semester ticket can be found on the NAH.SH website.
