Data protection & digital infrastructure

If you are wondering about publicly displayed exam results, video-monitored rooms in your department or other data protection-related oddities or even feel annoyed by them, but also if you are annoyed about a bad WLAN connection, unsuitable software or hardware in your department, I am your contact person in the AStA as the data protection and digital infrastructure officer!

In addition to these specific cases, I am also happy to help you make your own computer a little more secure, give tips on how to configure or expand everyday programmes so that they no longer send all data across the Internet and explain how to send encrypted emails and what IT certificates are for and how you can apply for such a certificate as a CAU student. (However, I'm not the one who repairs or reinstalls your computer or anything like that)

The third area covered by the department is providing information on data protection law, philosophy and policy issues and solutions. To this end, a small series of lectures and workshops will be held over the next two semesters together with the Computer Centre and the mathematics and computer science student councils.

Last but not least, I also take care of internal AStA data protection issues so that if you seek help from us, you are guaranteed confidentiality and anonymity and so that new regulations, processes etc. at university or state policy level also take into account the confidentiality of student data.
